About Us
Essentials of Cardiac Surgical Resuscitation™ (ECSR) is the educational strategy of Cardiac Advanced Resuscitation Education (CARE) for advancing excellence in cardiac surgical arrest management. It is the framework behind every CSU-ALS course CARE delivers: protocolized, guideline-aligned resuscitation taught through hands-on, multidisciplinary simulation, so the whole cardiac surgical team rehearses together for the moments that decide survival.

ECSR delivers accredited education in protocolized resuscitation for cardiac surgery patients, built on the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and EACTS guidelines and taught through the CSU-ALS course. Multicenter research shows that CSU-ALS-trained centers achieve measurably lower Failure to Rescue after cardiac surgical arrest. Our aim is simple: a culture of practicing for arrests as a team.
